The Dominican actress Zoe Saldaña visited the Dominican Red Cross to deliver aid for Haiti, provided by the cosmetics company Avon.
Saldaña, shoe film career includes Avatar and Star Trek also took time to talk to fans and the public, and asked them to continue the donations and stimulate others to help.
“I cannot remain with my arms crossed in the face of such a great tragedy for our brothers on the Island,” she said.

E! Online is reporting that Zoe is going to be a part of the “Hope for Haiti” telethon – which will be airing on all major US networks Today, January 22nd!
Avatar star Zoe Saldana will be a part of the telethon, but she tells us that she’s also working with Avon—she’s the beauty company’s newest celeb face—in helping raise disaster relief funds, which already includes $500,000 to the American Red Cross and Doctor’s Without Borders.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) announced today the launch of the “Be an Ally & a Friend” public education campaign. This year’s campaign has 22 public service announcements (PSAs) featuring 32 top entertainers from the world of television, film and music.
“The diverse group of 32 talented entertainers – gay, straight and transgender – who gave their time and energy to this campaign deserves our deepest thanks for participating in this effort to reach a critical audience,” Giuliano continues. “We are so thankful to the networks across the country who have proudly broadcast the ‘Be an Ally & a Friend’ campaign in both English and Spanish, sending a clear message of acceptance and support to their viewers.”
