Avatar star Zoe Saldana does not buy into fashion brands like other actresses because for her it is an ‘art form’.

The 32-year-old has a passion for clothes but prefers to steer clear of designer brands.

She told the UK’s Hello! magazine: ‘For many people, including a lot of famous actresses, fashion is all about brand names, logos, status symbols.

‘But for me it is an art form.’

Saldana also thinks that a big part of working in the showbusiness industry is about looking good.

The actress added: ‘Half the job of someone in showbusiness is creating an attractive image.

‘And for me, that doesn’t mean becoming a cheap sex symbol.’
